Månefisken
Månefisken took over the premises from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1989. Before this, it was used as a laundry for army uniforms and as a dyeing plant belonging to Hjula Væveri (weaving mill). Hjula Væveri was one of the first factories built along the Akerselva River in the 1850-60s. The area is considered by many to be the cradle of industrialism in Oslo, where river power was used to drive the machines. Parts of the premises were a drying house for textiles, a hall for looms, a turbine room and a dyeing plant. Månefisken started as a cultural workshop in the early nineties and has held exhibitions, concerts, theater performances, cultural evenings and dance performances. Now, we are thrilled to be getting married in this beautifully rustic venue.
